Advent Calendar Making Inspiration

We are asked so many times every year “How do you make an advent calendar that will not break the bank but will still look great.”.

Increasingly over recent years, we have found that advent calendar making kits and empty advent boxes have become more and more expensive, making them generally cost prohibitive for most pockets.  At the same time, there has been an influx at the super cheap end of the market, which are made from paper, tiny, difficult to make and will hold no weight.

With all of this in mind, we have created our own unique advent calendar making kits. These kits are supplied flat and ready for you to assemble.  They lock together, so no adhesives are needed – how simple is that?

We offer sets with 24 Christmas countdown cubes, together with the outer box to store them in, and 25 Christmas countdown mini soap boxes, again with their outer box.  We have deliberately offered these as both 24 and 25 boxes, as our customers are very clearly split between those who want to add an extra gift for Christmas Day and those who want to stop on Christmas Eve.

These Christmas countdown boxes are all supplied empty and ready for you to fill.

Our roots are in Christmas cracker making craft kits, so we have taken our most popular designs, and some new ones too, and created advent calendar making craft kits in these designs.  You will seriously be spoilt for choice – there is something for the whole family.

Just in case you can’t decide on a single design, which you prefer, we have also created a selection with boxes in assorted designs too.  These give you a more eclectic look, which can be so popular with advent calendars.

Personalisation

Many of our advent calendar making kits, we include the opportunity to personalise these with a name of your choice.  So not only are you able to choose special gifts for the countdown to Christmas, you can also add the recipient’s name too – making it even more special.

Environmentally Friendly

All of our boxes are designed and created by us in the UK and are all recyclable with your general waste – so no damage to the environment.

However, we would really hope that the boxes could be used time and time again.  Ask for the box back when it’s been enjoyed, so that you can do the same again next year!

Empty & Unfilled Advent Calendar Boxes

We all know that you can buy ready filled Christmas countdown boxes but they’re either filled with the rather dated chocolate option or ridiculously expensive and full of stuff that the recipient won’t actually ever use.

With this in mind, we supply these advent cubes and soap boxes empty and ready for you to fill.  What will you fill yours with?  Now there’s a question!

Advent Calendar Gifts

After you have made your advent calendar boxes, you will want to fill them with gifts.  There are literally thousands of things that you can use as gifts, from wrapped sweets to £50 notes!  Most of us will be at the wrapped sweets end of the spectrum but we know that lots of people love to select special gifts for each day.  Where budgets are being watched, why not choose a special gift from some days and add sweet treats on the other days.

Our advent boxes are all either cube or mini soap box shaped. With this in mind, we have curated a gift collection that will fit each one.

·      Gifts for advent cubes

·     Gifts for advent soap boxes

Within these collections of advent gifts, we have badges, keyrings, toiletries, seeds, toys, magnets, haberdashery and so, so many novelties too.  Something for all ages, all tastes and all budgets.

An Alternative Christmas Gift

Is there someone who you are not going to see at Christmas and, perhaps, throughout December as well?

If so, a Christmas countdown calendar would be a very different gift to give them.  They will open a small gift from your every day throughout December, making up for the fact that you won’t be seeing each other during the festive season.

Freestyle It!

Many of customers are very crafty and like to design their own boxes.  With this in mind, we also offer all of our cubes and soap boxes without the outer box and numbers, these can then be embellished with either number stickers or number plaques from our range.

Advent Calendars v Christmas Countdown

The word “advent” has its roots in the Christian faith Christmas calendar.  Advent doesn’t strictly run for the 24 days before Christmas, it actually starts the fourth Sunday before Christmas, which is normally in November.  However, advent calendars all run from the first day of December to either Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.

Partly from American language and partly for cultural and religious reasons, advent calendars are increasingly referred to as Christmas countdown calendars.  In essence, they are exactly the same thing though.
